openmoko, closed a deal with koolu, under that agreement koolu will “port of Google’s Android on the FreeRunner” , koolu will also sell global wide the android customized freerunners, Koolu will also offer the port for existing freerunner owners at the end of the year. this makes the freerunner the second handset to offer google android os. what I am really waiting is to see somebody porting their soft touchcreen keyboard software to the G1, I also love the 2.8″ VGA (480×640) VGA Screen

Freerunner is an open source cell phone targeting developers and geeks, is not for everybody but is a great step in the right direction (it means hundreds of android developers playing with a really open phone even at hardware level)
