G1 HACKED AT EAST COAST HACKER CONVENTION
Charlie Miller one of the best White Hat Hacker in the world (Security Consultant who was the first to public exploits against Apple’s Iphone and the Google’s Android OS), presented last Saturday at Shmoocon hacker conference in Washington, D.C. A found and exploit that could let the bad guys to steal your browser stored passwords (think email, bank access etc).
A user of an Android phone who uses the web browser to surf the internet may be exploited if they visit a malicious page. Upon visiting the malicious site, the attacker can run any code they wish with the privileges of the web browser application.
the new flaw in Android’s browsing software was found in code written by PacketVideo, a multimedia software company that contributed code to Android’s browser. While the vulnerability hasn’t yet been patched, Nancarrow said that PacketVideo is working to fix the flaw, and Google will send out an update to users through T-Mobile as soon as it becomes available.
